Job Description

Assists sales personnel in the selling of business software solutions through technical knowledge of the products and their target environments.

Responsibilities

Assist sales personnel with written and verbal responses to technical questions.

  • Consult with prospective clients to find optimal solution designs.
  • Educate prospective clients on the advantages and implementations strategies of proposed solutions.
  • Resolve any technical difficulties for prospective clients.
  • Complete RFI and RFP documents submitted by prospective clients.
  • Provide technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of software.
  • Deliver technical training on occasion to Sales personnel and Channel Partners
  • Liaise with other departments as necessary to fulfill job duties. 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry certifications and experience

  • At least three years of experience in network administration or closely related fields
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server OS technologies and administration.

Knowledge in the following technologies (or part thereof) is highly desirable:

    • Active Directory
    • CIFS/SMB
    • Samba
    • SQL Server
    • Oracle
    • Load Balancer Technologies like NetScaler and F5
    • MSMQ
    • CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker)
    • iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service)
  • Experience with network concepts, equipment, administration, and protocols.  Knowledge in the following technologies (or part thereof) is highly desirable:
    • Well-known file transfer protocols like FTP/SFTP/HTTPS/FTPS/AS2
    • IP Multicast
    • SQL Server
    • VLAN
    • CISCO Switching and Routing
  • Experience with scripting technologies and their use in automating IT and business process activities.  Knowledge in PowerShell, Visual Basic or other windows based scripting language are desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and prospective clients
  • Ability to identify and document prospect requirements and match
  • Ability to work closely with diverse personalities, including in high-pressure or difficult situations
  • Ability to think critically and creatively to resolve issues in diverse technological environments
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Knowledge of standard business productivity software and Contact Management systems
